Follow the 
Prescript: Use his marked skill against (ideally) the marked target. His conditionals and effects will naturally follow if you keep doing this. Activate his passive as soon as possible to speed up his 
Grace of the Prescript gain.
Failing to follow the prescript gives him 
Karmic Consequence, a stacking debuff that makes him more fragile, weakens his base attacks, and lasts for the rest of the encounter. He stops gaining more of it when he hits 9 Grace of the Prescript.
He gains 
Unlock stages as he follows the Prescripts giving his skills additional 
Unbreakable Coins. Once his passive is active, he gains ![Procuration [Hermes]](https://limbus-assets.eldritchtools.com/assets/statuses/StackRienSpecialSkill.png)
Procuration [Hermes] for every Unbreakable Coin on his skills. He gets a free S3 use when he reaches 9 stacks, so there's no need to save his S3. He also gains an additional 1 Procuration [Hermes] when using marked skills even without his passive.
He can force his Grace of the Prescript and Unlock level to go up by using his defense at the cost of gaining Karmic Consequence stacks. You may want to use it in unfocused encounters since it immediately brings him up to 
Unlock - II which can take a while if you can't control whether he hits the marked enemy.
Procuration [Hermes] can only be gained up to Unlock Stage + 2 per turn (5 per turn at max). Using Furioso-Replica can give him some Procuration [Hermes] back on the following turn. This counts towards the 5 cap of that turn, so you won't be able to build Procuration [Hermes] back up that quickly.
The following happens every turn:
The Prescript's Target is assigned to a random enemy, increasing damage taken from Index identities.
Mark of the Prescript is assigned to a random skill (1 per slot, 2 skills max, prioritizes S3 at 6+ Grace of the Prescript).
Gain a Prescript depending on his Grace of the Prescript. Following the Prescript gives him SP and Grace of the Prescript, more if his target is marked.
Being in 
Unlock - III gives him additional speed, 
Poise generation, and damage buffs.
After using his first Furioso-Replica or being staggered, he unstaggers and replaces his 
Wound-casing Mask with 
Sizzling Wound further reducing damage taken from unopposed attacks and increasing the damage of his Unbreakable Coins. It also gives him 1 
Burn and 
Bleed per turn. Having Sizzling Wound also gives him 
Indulgence in Prescripts which further buffs his Furioso-Replica with more 
Sinking, Poise, and damage.
His passive increases his damage and SP healing when he follows the Mark of the Prescript mechanic.
He gives [Don Quixote] The Index Proxy - Effloresced E.G.O:: Procuration an increased damage dealt buff if both are on the field.
